The Faithful Sparrow and the Cunning Snake

Once upon a time, in a lush green forest, a kind and faithful sparrow named Chatura lived with her mate on a strong banyan tree. They built a cozy nest and soon had a clutch of tiny eggs. Chatura had immense faith in the goodness of the world and believed that as long as they were honest and hardworking, they would always be safe.
However, trouble lurked nearby. A cunning snake named Kaal lived in a hole at the base of the tree. He often eyed the sparrow’s nest, waiting for the right moment to strike. One day, when Chatura and her mate had gone in search of food, Kaal slithered up the tree and ate the eggs.
When Chatura returned, she was heartbroken but refused to lose faith. She and her mate decided to seek advice from their wise friend, the jackal. The jackal, known for his intelligence, suggested a plan.
The next morning, Chatura flew to the king’s palace and found the queen’s favorite necklace lying on a windowsill. She swiftly picked it up and flew back to her tree, deliberately dropping it near the snake’s hole. The palace guards, seeing the sparrow take the necklace, followed her and began searching around the tree.
Soon, they spotted the shining necklace near the snake’s hole. Without a second thought, they dug into the ground, forcing the snake to come out. Terrified, Kaal slithered away to save himself, never to return again.
Chatura and her mate were finally safe. They rebuilt their nest and soon had another clutch of eggs, this time knowing they had triumphed through faith, wisdom, and patience.
Moral of the Story: Faith should always be accompanied by wisdom. Blind trust can be dangerous, but with intelligence and belief in doing what is right, one can overcome any challenge. Parents can teach their children that faith in goodness is important, but one must also be wise in facing obstacles.
